What our customers say

I started dancing at Village School of Dance when I was 2.5 years old. This is when my love for dancing began.

From an early age I have taken part in our school shows, community events, ISTD exams and back in the day workshops.

Miss Jacqueline’s passion and dedication for dancing and teaching is what encouraged me to want to choreograph and teach.

I was constantly supported by Miss Jacqueline when I did GCSE Dance, AS and A Levels in Dance then working toward a Dance Degree. I was given advice and guidance when I achieved my DDI and DDE Teaching Qualification in Tap. Without this I definitely would not have been able to achieve these positive results.

I have had the opportunity to teach at VSD and meet some fab children, we are very lucky to have such supportive families. Saturdays would certainly be very dull without Village School of Dance.

Fast forward many many years I now have 2 children, Barney and Dolly who can’t wait for Saturdays and run into dancing. Barney has especially benefited from dancing at VSD. Having a delay in his speech, his social and imaginative play skills, Miss Jacqueline and Miss Meg have brought Barney out of his shell. Barney now talks about dancing with such enthusiasm. There is no other place I would want to see him grow at.

Without the Village School of Dance I wouldn’t have met some amazing friends. 30 years on a few of us are still great friends, as are our children! I’m sure their friendships will last just as long.

Thank you Miss Jacqueline!!!

Harriet Gray

A fab dance school where the emphasis for learning dance is through fun!’ My daughter loves coming to lessons, she does Ballet, tap and jazz. She especially looks forward to performing in the shows that are organised and all the experiences that come with it. Thank you Village School of Dance.

My daughter has been at The Village School of Dance since the age of three, and in the five years she has been there she has made friends, taken part in shows and passed nationally recognised dance exams. It is a family run school with a great welcoming feel to it and I would recommend it in a heartbeat.

Gill McGrandles

The Village School of Dance feels like an extended family where everyone is always smiling, warm and welcoming. The teachers are friendly, approachable and professional who have nurtured both my daughters to blossom through their passion of dance.

I chose VSD because I knew my daughters would be taught the correct technique of ballet, tap and the other forms of dancing they do there. Both girls started at the age of 3.  My eldest Aurora is now 17 and still dances with VSD.  My youngest, Talitha, 13 years old, also still attend and loves her dancing lessons.

VSD teaches aspects of technique and artistry in professional work.  Miss Jacqueline, Miss Meg and Miss Harriet all take active roles in training students of all ages and capabilities.  The teachers provide the right environment for the children’s ability and passion for dance to grow.  The disciplined approach to classes is firm and loving, ensuring excellent exam grades throughout. The students are expected to work hard and show commitment which they do with a marked enthusiasm.

I am confident that Aurora and Talitha receive the best training available.  They have a wonderful balance of discipline, fun and self-confidence.

I would highly recommend Village School of Dance to other parents.

My eldest daughter is really enjoying dancing at VSD.  She gets to express herself through dance and has gained confidence which she has taken with her into other situations like starting school.  We are also really pleased with the way in which she was prepared for her first Ballet exam and her confidence and success in this are a credit to Miss Jacqueline and Miss Meg’s teaching, I know they really care about their pupil’s progress and wellbeing in the class.  My youngest daughter has now just started and watching her run into her lessons I know she, like her sister, will have fun and develop her dancing skills.  She tells me ‘Miss Jacqueline and Miss Meg make me happy!’
